What to do when your Android or iPhone Screen gets damaged?
While a cracked phone screen is an obvious sign that you need to have your phone looked at ASAP, there are other signs that all is not well with your screen. If the LCD has started to flicker or it’s gone a bit blurry, it’s a good idea to have the Hex team look at it.
Of course, if your phone seems to be working okay, it’s tempting to soldier on rather than do without your phone for even a short period. In our experience, things only get worse the longer you leave them once a problem with your phone appears.
There’s a lot going on in not a very big space behind the screen of your device, so any impact or crack can affect the components sitting behind it. There’s also more chance of water or moisture getting in once a crack appears. We don’t want to scare you, but we do want to make sure you give your phone the best chance of recovery when something happens to its screen.

We always replace like for like, so if your original phone screen was LCD, we replace it with an LCD screen. The same goes for OLED screens. Not using like-for-like parts can lead to other unexpected issues with your phone, such as overheating or poorer battery performance.
While we don’t want to sound like your mum or dad, we really do recommend using a glass screen protector, as well as a protective case for your phone, to minimise the chances of anything happening to your screen in the first place or to avoid a repeat performance. We have a range of both, along with other accessories for your phone, in our Tollcross repair centre.
