Hard Drive and SSD Replacement

The latest models of MacBook all come with a Solid-State Drive (SSD) as standard. If you have an older model, it can be upgraded to improve read and write speeds. There are no moving elements with SSDs, unlike a Hard Disk Drive (HDD) which has spinning platters, making it more prone to damage or developing faults after a knock or impact.

If you are running out of space and wish you had more storage we can upgrade your drive and prolong a life span of you beloved vintage Mac.

If your HDD has been damaged or isn’t working as well as it used to, drop into Hex to ask us about upgrading your MacBook to SSD for an all-round quicker and more responsive device that’s less prone to damage. We also stock MacBook hard drive replacements should yours require repair.

This service option is only available for older Macbooks series:

  • Macbook - Pre 2015 models
  • Macbook Pro - up to 2015 models
  • Macbook Air - up to 2017 models

Sadly most of the newer Apple Macbook models no longer have removable storage. The SSD drives are soldered on to the logic board and there's no easy solution to increase the storage apart of attaching external storage or removing unnecessary files to free up space.
