Water damage repair

From a coffee spillage to using your phone in the rain to full immersion of your device, the best thing to do is get a professional repair centre on the case as quickly as possible.

Less obvious ways to suffer water damage are from steamy kitchens or bathrooms or by keeping your phone in a wet pocket. Apart from possible damage to internal components, the biggest risk from water damage is corrosion.

• There is something you can do immediately to help after your phone suffers water damage. Dry it off as much as possible with a towel or under a hot lamp to reduce excess moisture. Putting your phone in rice is a waste of time (and rice).
• There’s no guarantee your phone can be fixed, but at Hex we have an excellent success rate. We’ve rescued phones submerged in water for days, devices that have gone through a full wash cycle, and phones drenched with fizzy drinks.
• There are also, sadly, no quick fixes. With water damage, the whole device has to be examined, so it takes longer than other issues for a proper diagnosis and repair.
