If you're experiencing a lack of sound or poor audio quality or low sound on your phone, it's possible that there is an issue with the loudspeaker. This could result in missed notifications or difficulty listening to music through your device's main speaker.
Can I do anything myself to fix the loudspeaker?
Yes. There's few ways to resolve issues with your iPhone loudspeaker.
Firstly start from checking the volume level. Toggle the volume switch on the side of you iPhone the adjustment should be visible through the icon on the screen and volume should go up or down. You can also check if it's not on mute mode.
Secondly , If you can hear the sound coming from your speaker but it is very faint or muffled give the speaker mesh a clean. The easiest way at home is to use your old toothbrush. This can help if your loudspeaker is clogged up ( very common if you work in a dusty environment )
Thirdly , Check if there's no Bluetooth devices ( Headphones , external speakers etc. ) connected to your iPhone that could output sound onto external source. For those beloved iPhones with the headphone jack , check if there's nothing stuck in the port. At Hex we often get to fix devices by needing to extract the broken off piece of headphone jack stuck in the port.
In some cases, the absence of sound on your phone may be caused by an internal chip issue ( Audio IC ). However, more often than not, it's simply a matter of fixing the loudspeaker. The good news is that this is a fast and straightforward repair that can easily be done at Hex. Just bring your phone in to us and we'll have it up and running smoothly in no time at all.
